KDC establishes Mangawhai Harbour Working Group
Mangawhai Matters applauds the initiative below, it follows on from our Sustainable Mangawhai Project. This Project has laid bare the real risks to the spit and harbour and as a result to our community, economy, environment andcultural values. As a result of lobbying by Mangawhai Matters it has given our governing bodies the impetus to act. KDC to review rates rise
Following consultation with local ratepayer group, Mangawhai Matters Society Inc (MM), and after conducting his own investigations, Kaipara Council Mayor Jonathan Larsen has recommended to the council meeting next Thursday that staff review the Annual Plan to bring the 2026/7 proposed rate increase down by 4.0% from 7.9% to 3.9%. PC 85 -Black Swamp Rd Refused
The Commissioners report on the Black Swamp Rd Plan Change has been released and their recommendation is that the Plan Change is to be refused. Great news for every one who was involved. Thank you to everyone who supported us and who contributed to our fighting fund, without that support we would have 750 houses being built in a satellite town which no one wanted.
