Mangawhai Matters applauds the initiative below, it follows on from our Sustainable Mangawhai Project. This Project has laid bare the real risks to the spit and harbour and as a result to our community, economy, environment andcultural values. Following consultation with local ratepayer group, Mangawhai Matters Society Inc (MM), and after conducting his own investigations, Kaipara Council Mayor Jonathan Larsen has recommended to the council meeting next Thursday that staff review the Annual Plan to bring the 2026/7 proposed rate increase down by 4.0% from 7.9% to 3.9%.
